With a 15 per cent rise in the air transport revenue in Q2 2022, as against the pre-pandemic level in 2019, as an indicator to back the increasing demand, the Vietnamese international low-cost airline, Vietjet Air has announced its new route plan with flights directly connecting major cities in India to Vietnam’s top destinations, including Da Nang and beyond.
In an announcement made during Da Nang Tourism Roadshow in New Delhi, Vietjet Commercial Director, Jay L Lingeswara shared that the airline will launch two first direct services linking Mumbai and New Delhi with Da Nang starting October 17 and 18, and three more routes to Da Nang from Bengaluru (Bangalore), Hyderabad and Ahmedabad on November 28, 29 and December 1 respectively.
The airline also plans to expand its network beyond Vietnam and will soon connect India’s top destinations with Southeast Asia (Bali, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur), Northeast Asia (Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei) and the Asia Pacific, giving Indian travellers more choices for both business and leisure connectivity.
Additional services from key Indian cities namely, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to Vietnam’s economic and tourism hubs Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc will get operational starting in September.
Travellers can book promotional tickets from India to Vietnam with fares as low as INR9 (excluding taxes and fees) every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from now until August 26 for the travel period from August 15, 2022, to March 26, 2023 (excluding public holidays) at www.vietjetair.com.
“The airline has operated a total of 52,500 flights with 9 million passengers onboard, respectively increasing by 54 per cent and 92 per cent y-o-y. The number of flights has particularly increased by 8 per cent against the pre-pandemic level in 2019. With 17 direct services, Vietjet will operate the largest flight network ever between India and Vietnam from September onwards,” shared Lingeswara.
“It is also more convenient and affordable for Indian travellers to visit not only Vietnam’s top destinations but also connect to other destinations in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and all over the Asia Pacific thanks to Vietjet’s expanding flight network.
Interestingly, Vietnam has issued over 24 times more visas for Indians this year than in the pre-pandemic era. Taking it as an indication of the travellers’ reference, Vietnam has lifted all arrival regulations relating to Covid-19 to make travel easier for travellers.
Indian travellers can now apply for e-visa for their upcoming trips to Vietnam. All international travellers coming to Phu Quoc are eligible for a 30-day visa exemption.
